Brooklands Action Day

September is with us and it's back to campaigning. On Saturday I joined Romford MP Andrew Rosindell and local activists for an action day delivering newsletters and meeting residents in Brooklands Ward. The weather was fine and people we met were positive, whilst understanding the difficulties facing the government and the necessity of unpopular decisions.

This was the first in a series of Romford campaign days which will cover the whole of the constituency, so a busy autumn lies ahead...

Hello Mr Evans: hope you had a good summer.

Did anyone on hte campaign trail ask their local MP about his admiration for General Pinochet, or perhaps the interesting party held at Westminster? Were you invited, by the way? I am sure you would have declined, of course.

Welcome back Mrs A.

You will be pleased to know that neither subject was raised by constituents - in fact nobody has ever raised them with me on the doorstep.

And I was disappointed not to be invited to the party....

Well, I am very disappointed to hear that such an outrageous view has not been challenged ... tut tut.

If he holds another party though, send me a ticket.
