Today a group of members visited the Olympic Park to observe the progress of this giant project. The Aquatic Centre, Velodrome, Athletes' Village and other landmarks are now complete and finishing touches are being made to the landscaping. everything will be ready to welcome the world in just a few months. In the bowels of the huge stadium is a practice running track - Gareth Bacon, Victoria Borwick and I were 'on your marks' for the gruelling sprint ahead...

I am told the Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre is the entrance to the London 2012 Olympics.
The outside of the Westfield shopping centre is a monstrous carbuncle.
How can they get away with this?
Newham Council approved the planning application. Did they bother to read it?
London 2012 organisers must have spotted this?
It is ridiculous a company such as the size of Westfield with assets of over $53bn (AUS), should build something so ugly on our doorsteps.
Could n't they afford good architects??
It is another blot on the landscape, just like all the ugly high rise council blocks.
